F&B business delegation to Bahrain & Saudi Arabia
The Trade Promotion Council of India organised a 20-member food & beverage business delegation from September 11 to September 15, 2022. The visit aimed to bring together top food and beverage importers, renowned distributors, and iconic modern trade outlets across Bahrain, Riyadh and Jeddah to explore India’s new and innovative products.
The Trade Promotion Council of India organised a 20-member food & beverage business delegation from September 11 to September 15, 2022.The business meet started in Bahrain on 12th September, 2022. The meet was inaugurated by HE Mr. Piyush Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Bahrain. The event witnessed a presence of around 45 leading retailers, importers, distributors and whole sellers of F&B products in Bahrain.
Charge D Affairs Shri N Ram Prasad, Embassy of India, Riyadh addressed exporters’ questions about certificates of conformity, SFDA Approvals, etc. on 13th September at the embassy. This was followed by an exclusive BSM with Carrefour, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and an Indian exporter delegation. Mr. Florent Gomez, VP Sourcing and Marketing, Mr. Mohd Kasabia, GM, Mr. Noushad, GM – Procurement, Mr. Carbl, and Mr. Iqbal Annie (Category Managers) met the delegation from India to explore potential business opportunities.
On 14th September, 2022 a session led by Mr. Abdulaziz, General Manager, TUV Austria was held. It briefed the attendees about the compliance requirement of exports of F&B products to Saudi Arabia. Some of the major compliance and related issues were discussed between the agency and the Indian exporter delegation. There was also an exclusive business meetings between the official from Lulu & Nesto Hypermarkets and the Indian exporters at their headquarters in Riyadh. These proved to be great platforms for some on-the-spot deals between the two sides.
TPCI in association with Consulate General of India, Jeddah organized the third BSM on F&B at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce on 15th Sep 2022. The BSM started with a ribbon cutting ceremony which was followed by an opening remark by Mr. Mohd Al Saeed, Secretary General, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and a key note address by HE, Shri Mohd Shahid Alam, Consul General of India to Jeddah. The meet marked a presence of more than 50 leading importers from Jeddah such as Panda Retail, Lulu Hypermarket, Ali Al Ali Group , BHT, Al Twijri , Al Alameya Group, Gulf Falcon Group , Al Moatesam Group , Abbar Food Distribution, to name a few.
