Business worth 1 billion USD has been negotiated during 5th edition of Indusfood

–          International buyers, supermarket chains and distributors of more than 50 country participated in the show

 

13th January 2022, New Delhi: The 5th edition of Indusfood 2022 has negotiated business deals worth 1 billion USD during the three days of the show. Some of the prominent buyers, supermarkets  and distributor who visited the show included; Nesto Hypermarket (GCC), Gala (UAE), Grand Hypermarket (GCC), Lulu, Jaleel Cash & Carry (UAE), National Food Company (Saudi Arabia), Fortune Five Group (UAE), OIC (Canada), Dashmesh Trading (Singapore), Reshmi Food & Shrinath Trading (USA), Lamar (Egypt), Masco Dairy (Bangladesh), Suyash International (Nepal), etc.

 

The 5th Edition of IndusFood’, was held on 8-10 January 2022, covering a display area of 18,000 square meters with 350+ Indian exporters of food & beverages, agricultural commodities, processed value added products, Indian branded products including Indian ethnic food segment will interact with 800 plus Buyers (Importers, large Supermarket & Retail Chains, Distributors, etc.), spread across three days, from 50+ countries to source Indian Origin products. During ‘IndusFood’, TPCI along with India Exposition Mart Limited, ensured complete safe business activities by strict compliance of ‘Health and Safety related SOPs’ issued by the GoI and local administration while organizing B2B Expo. 

 

The 5th Edition if Indusfood 2022 was inaugurated by Bhagwanth Khuba, Minister of State in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy and Minister of State in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, at India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida, on 8th January 2022, in presence of global buyers, exhibitors and S. Muniswamy, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Kolar, Karnataka.

 

Delivering his inaugural address Bhagwanth Khuba, said, “Indusfood expo, for the past 5 years has been organized to promote India’s food processing sector to the world. So the world is preferring India’s products across the globe. Today the GoI is promoting the food products and to reduce logistical expenditure, the GoI is promoting the packaging industry, particularly the food products segment so as to minimize the cost of products and to get cheaper products for the consumers.

 

Indusfood has tremendous scope for the Indian farmers, manufacturing sector to introduce to the world. We are a 1.3 billion population and that is our strength. Whatever the world demands, we can cater to that, Khuba added. 

 

Vivek Agarwal, Chairman F&B Committee TPCI said, “I know we are all passing through a tough time and I am happier to see industry resilience and growing robustness, despite multiple challenges. As India’s export of agricultural and processed food products has increased more than 20% in the in April-December 2021-22 compared to the same period of 2020-21.” Today Indusfood has turned five and I am enthused as I can see TPCI vision unfolding before me, as our food and agri exporters in India now have one of the South- Asia’s largest integrated sourcing platform today for business, he added.

 

Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) also organized the MSME Exports Excellence Award 2022 in ‘Food & Beverages and Food Processing & Packaging Technology’ on the sidelines of the 5th Edition of ‘IndusFood’. 

 

Motivating the Indian exporters Narayan Rane, the MSME Minister in his message said, “I congratulate all 30 exporters and encourage you to work for the food industry. The government is behind you to support make your contribution to make Aatmanirbhar Bharat.” The event I am sure will enhance collaboration, networking and technological tie-ups to help raise the profile of India’s traditional F&B sector internationally, he added.

 

Further, the MSME Minister said, “India has only 2% share in global export of food products (14th largest exporter in the world) though has huge potential to be among the top 10 largest global markets.

 

30 MSME awards under 7 categories to recognize outstanding achievements of MSME & non-MSME companies in F&B and Food Processing Technologies were conferred. TPCI has empanelled a highly eminent jury comprising of reputed International Buyers, who are the critical stakeholders in the global F&B and Food Processing Industry. 

 

S. Muniswamy, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Kolar, Karnataka conferred awards to the winners. Addressing the audience the MP said, ”India’s rich agricultural resource with its different varieties of food grains, spices and vegetables. Indusfood will stand up to the global demand expectations.”
