TPCI Organizes India-EU Food and Agri Buyer-Seller meet in Germany
The Trade Promotion Council of India recently organized a significant event, the India-EU Food and Agri Buyer-Seller Meet (BSM), in Koln, Germany, on October 7. This event was aimed at fostering trade relations and expanding market opportunities between India and the European Union in the food and agriculture sector.
The Trade Promotion Council of India recently hosted the India-EU Food and Agriculture Buyer-Seller Meet (BSM), in Koln, Germany, on October 7th. The primary objective of this event was to strengthen trade ties and broaden market prospects in the food and agriculture sector between India and the European Union.
The BSM was inaugurated by Shri Vinod Kumar, Consul (Pol, Eco & Com) & Commercial Representative- Consulate General of India, Frankfurt. It marked the beginning of a unique platform for Indian food and beverage (F&B) exporters to connect with over 50 top importers from the European Union.
Approximately 30 Indian F&B exporters participated in the event, showcasing their diverse range of products. This gathering facilitated discussions, negotiations, and potential collaborations between Indian exporters and European importers, paving the way for increased trade in the sector.
India’s F&B exports to the EU have been on an impressive growth trajectory, estimated at around US$ 3.7 billion in 2022, with a YoY growth rate of approximately 16%. This growth underscores the immense potential that the European market holds for Indian exporters.
The India-EU Food and Agri BSM served as an excellent platform for Indian exporters to explore and capitalize on the burgeoning opportunities in the European market. It provided a valuable avenue for strengthening trade relations and enhancing India’s presence in the EU’s F&B sector. The event showcased the commitment of both India and the European Union to furthering their economic ties in this crucial industry, which benefits not only businesses but also consumers on both sides.
