TPCI Hosts Inaugural India Bio Energy Conference 2026
New Delhi, June 12, 2026: The Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI), through its National Committee on Bio Energy, successfully organised the first edition of the India Bio Energy Conference (IBEC) 2026 at The Leela, New Delhi, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, diplomats, technology providers, investors, and experts from across the bio-energy value chain.
The Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI), under the aegis of its National Committee on Bio Energy, successfully hosted the inaugural India Bio Energy Conference (IBEC) 2026 on June 12, 2026, at The Leela, New Delhi. The conference served as a premier platform for deliberations on the role of bio-energy in advancing India’s energy transition, enhancing energy security, and achieving its long-term sustainability and net-zero objectives.
The conference witnessed participation from senior government officials, industry leaders, diplomats, renewable energy experts, innovators, investors, and representatives from academia and international organisations. Discussions focused on key themes shaping the future of the sector, including Compressed Biogas (CBG), Ethanol Blending, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), biomass integration, climate finance, and the evolving geopolitical landscape of global energy markets.
Delivering the keynote address, Shri Rajnath Ram, Advisor (Energy), NITI Aayog, highlighted the importance of significantly increasing the share of non-fossil fuel-based energy sources to meet India’s net-zero commitments. Shri Mohit Singla, Chairman, TPCI, emphasized that bio-energy is emerging as a critical pillar of India’s green growth agenda, creating opportunities for sustainable industrial development, rural prosperity, and energy independence. Lt Col Monish Ahuja (Retd), Co-Chair of TPCI’s National Committee on Bio Energy, underscored the strategic role of bio-energy in strengthening the country’s renewable energy ecosystem.
A major highlight of the conference was the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TPCI and the SAF Association to strengthen cooperation in promoting Sustainable Aviation Fuel adoption and ecosystem development in India.
IBEC 2026 reinforced the importance of collaborative action among government, industry, academia, and global partners to accelerate innovation, investment, and policy support for a resilient and future-ready bio-energy ecosystem. The conference marks the beginning of a sustained dialogue aimed at positioning India as a global leader in sustainable energy solutions.
