TPCI organises India-Russia Ceramics Buyer-Seller Meet in Moscow
The Trade Promotion Council of India organised the fourth edition of the India–Russia Buyer Seller Meet on Ceramic and Vitrified Tiles in Moscow on 9 July 2026, with the support of the Embassy of India in Moscow. The event brought together a 50-member delegation of Indian exporters and more than 80 Russian importers, creating a focused platform for business engagement, product discovery and new sourcing partnerships.
The Buyer Seller Meet comes at a time when India’s ceramic exports to Russia are recording sustained growth and gaining a stronger position in the market. According to ITC Trade Map, India’s exports of ceramic products to the Russian Federation grew at a five-year compound annual growth rate of 36.2%, reaching US$136.9 million in 2025. This expansion reflects increasing Russian demand for Indian building, renovation and finishing materials.
Ceramic and vitrified tiles form the backbone of this trade. UN Comtrade-based data indicates that tiles accounted for the overwhelming majority of India’s ceramic exports to Russia in 2024. Russia also emerged as India’s fourth-largest ceramic tile export destination during the year, with shipments rising by 22.4% to 28.1 million square metres, despite a decline in India’s overall tile exports.
India is well positioned to build on this momentum. Its large manufacturing ecosystem, led by the Morbi ceramic cluster, offers extensive production capacity, design variety, competitive pricing and the ability to serve buyers across multiple market segments. Russia’s continuing residential construction, renovation activity and demand for porcelain and finishing products create a scalable opportunity for Indian suppliers.
Against this backdrop, the Buyer Seller Meet provided direct access to credible Russian importers and enabled Indian companies to understand market requirements, showcase product capabilities and initiate commercial discussions. Such focused business engagements help reduce information gaps, build buyer confidence and accelerate the conversion of export potential into actual orders and long-term partnerships.
The initiative also supports the wider objective of diversifying India–Russia trade and increasing India’s share in Russian imports. By connecting manufacturers with importers in a high-potential sector, TPCI’s platform can contribute to stronger export flows, deeper commercial linkages and a more balanced bilateral trade relationship. It further reinforces India’s reputation as a reliable source of quality ceramic solutions for Russian market needs.
