TPCI organizes 2nd edition of India GCC Buyer Seller Meet on Food & Beverages

Trade Promotion Council of India successfully hosted the second edition of the India GCC Buyer Seller Meet, focused on Food & Beverages on 18th July 2023. The event presented an incredible opportunity for 38 Indian F&B exporters to participate in productive discussions concerning business prospects with more than 150 buyers from the GCC region.

Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) commenced the inauguration of the second edition of the India GCC Buyer Seller Meet on Food & Beverages on 18th July 2023. The event was graced by the presence of H.E. Dr. Aman Puri, Consul General of India in Dubai, alongside esteemed guests such as Mr. Paras Shahdadpuri, Governor of IBPC – Dubai, Mr. A Abdul Vaheed, Secretary General of the Food & Beverages Manufacturers Association in the UAE, and Mr. K Kalimuthu, Consul (Economic & Commerce) from the CGI-Dubai.

The event offered a remarkable opportunity for 38 Indian F&B exporters to engage in fruitful discussions regarding business prospects with over 150 buyers from the GCC region, encompassing UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

During his address, Dr. Puri highlighted the importance of the Indian F&B industry in establishing strong and innovative brands while promoting them globally. He also mentioned the recent agreement between the Indian and UAE governments regarding the settlement of bilateral cross-border trading in local currencies. This agreement was made during the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s visit to the UAE last week. Notably, the first transaction under this agreement was successfully executed yesterday, where the UAE exported 25kg of gold to India, and the transaction was settled in local currency.
